Ode to my Chap Stick

Oh how mirthful you make me,

When I look to see your, golden cylinder, shape in the distance.

Suddenly my lips ache for your touch, with a soft and silent plea.

I look away with much resistance,

For the love I feel for you captivates my lonely heart.

The way you glide over my lips with your silky affection,

Showing me your nurturing touch,

All of this makes me dread when we must part.

When you’re gone I anxiously await your returning perfection.

You’re the twinkling in my eye, oh chap stick, and I will always love you as such.

The strange couple

Every Sunday I go into work and a couple comes in to order food. The girl (lets call her Jane) is usually dressed in some sort of strange pajama pant and a wife beater. She has reddish brown hair with almond shaped brown eyes, her features are a bit more angular; pointy nose with a small mouth and chin that jets out a little, and is about 3 inches taller than her boyfriend (lets call him Bobby). Bobby usually is just in jeans and a t-shirt with blond curly hair. His oval face is very proportionate with his bubbly nose and mouth that is constantly turned up into a little smirk and glasses that cover his round blue eyes. From first glance they seem like an odd couple she looks very harsh and not necessarily a person you just want to go an hug on the street, and he seems to be softer and more gentle and kindhearted. Anyways from the moment they walk in I can hear her talking so loud about all the things she doesn't like and begging Bobby to get certain things while hanging all over the poor man. It never fails that Bobby orders the same thing as every other sunday while Jane sits there and yells and fusses about never getting to do anything that she wants to do. As if that weren't annoying enough to have to endure, while I stand there waiting for him to pay, Jane starts going off on other topics and complains about pretty much everything known to man, meanwhile Bobby just stands there and ignores her the whole time like she is some creepy man that stands too close to you in public that you act like you don't notice in hopes he'll go away, except for the fact that she doesn't stop talking. After they left I was thinking back and trying to figure out how Bobby and Jane ended up together. It was the strangest thing the first time they came in I was honestly baffled by the experience. My co-worker and I came to the conclusion that she is either a lot less intense in private or he was kinda desperate and took what he could, either way I kinda dread/look forward to them coming in every Sunday to see what excitement they can bring to the boredom I call my Sunday mornings.
